The story of Gurkha Momo begins with Mr and Mrs Pradhan, two individuals whose lifelong dedication to Nepalese cuisine and passion for excellence have defined our company’s journey.

Having met during the 1980s, they began their professional careers working in restaurants across West London. With a shared vision to one day create something of their own, they dedicated themselves to mastering every aspect of the food industry. Each of them now brings over 45 years of experience spanning Nepal, Thailand and the UK, and together, they have built a legacy of authenticity and quality.

In 2000, their vision became a reality with the opening of their first restaurant in Ruislip, London, followed soon after by a second in Denham, Buckinghamshire. Both establishments quickly became known for their authentic flavours, exceptional service and loyal customer base, establishing the Pradhans’ reputation for culinary excellence.

After fifteen successful years in the restaurant business, Mr and Mrs Pradhan identified a growing demand for authentic Nepalese momos in the wider market. They set up a small production unit in Park Royal, London, with a clear purpose, to produce high-quality handmade momos true to Nepalese tradition.

What started as a small family venture has grown into a nationally recognised brand and the leading supplier of handmade momos in the UK since 2012. Every momo we produce is carefully handmade on site by our skilled team, following time-honoured recipes that preserve authentic Himalayan flavours. To ensure the highest possible quality, all momos are instantly frozen on site to maintain freshness and texture and transported to our buyers in temperature-controlled freezer vans. This process guarantees that every product reaches its destination in perfect condition, ready to deliver the taste and quality our customers expect.

Today, Gurkha Momo operates as an authorised and fully licensed food manufacturer and distributor, approved to sell throughout the UK and Europe. Our production facility is fully compliant with all relevant food safety and hygiene standards and we remain committed to maintaining rigorous quality control throughout every stage of production and distribution.

It is important to note that home-based momo producers operating without proper licensing and facilities are not legally authorised to sell food commercially. At Gurkha Momo, we take pride in being a regulated and trusted supplier, ensuring complete compliance and peace of mind for our customers.
